My Project

One of my favorite things to hear from students is how they “used to hate reading,” but realized they just didn’t find the good books to read yet! In a world that has so many “other” things to do than read, it is my mission to provide students with those books that are filled with engaging and diverse stories- those that make them fall in love with reading and choose, over so many other options, to pick up a book and read.

As book clubs are a very valuable part of the classroom where authentic discussion and ideas are shared, I am looking to increase the book club options in my classroom.

“Mexikid” is a graphic novel memoir that is both hilarious and provides strong themes. I am looking to include 15 copies in my classroom so several book clubs can read and discuss at the same time.
