My students come from different types of American families but they all have one thing in common: they spend their day at school learning IN French. I can say that my students are pretty special and amazing! They learn math, science, and social studies, like any other 3rd graders, but the lessons are in French!
Amazing, isn't it?!
Thinking that these 8 and 9 year old kids can do that, it blows me away every year. I want to offer them the best environment for their learning.
My Project
My third-grade students spend their day learning subjects taught in French. But what about the French culture? That is not something you can learn through a French version of an American workbook. You need authentic resources for that.
The magazine "Bonjour" talks about French culture from around the world.
It talks about French personalities. It talks about events in French-speaking countries. A simple magazine can open the door of students' mind on the world, and its people. That is how we create acceptance for what is unknown to us and how we hope to create a better world.
