Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My Kindergarten students are full of energy and are excited about learning. Many of my students are English Language Learners that come from many diverse backgrounds. They are interested in learning new things and asking many questions. I keep them engaged by teaching through hands-on activities to reach their learning styles. Every lesson is a new adventure.

Kindergarten is the foundation for all future learning.

Even though learning is the most essential part of the day, my students also need some time to release their energy. When I notice that they are losing focus, we stop what we are doing and "Shake Our Sillies Out." This helps them to release their energy and gain focus once again. They look forward to doing this as much as they do learning.

My Project

My students, as well as the other students on my floor, will benefit greatly from the creation of an "Activity Path". The Cricut Machine will be used to create the items needed to make this path come to life. I will create a "Follow The Numbers", a "Follow The Alphabet", and a "Follow The Footprints" path. The timer will be used to show the students how much time they have to complete each of the tasks. The use of these paths will allow students to release their energy while incorporating learning. This in turn will enable them to re-focus their energy on curriculum.

A good balance between learning and fun is essential for Kindergarten students.

For some, Kindergarten is their first formal learning experience. Therefore, those students need motivation to achieve their very best. This will help them to work harder to complete their assignment so that they can have some fun time.
