My students attend a high-poverty middle school in Seattle. All of my students require additional support in all classroom settings, and many of them are students with high-functioning Autism. Even though school is hard for many of them, they have a strong will to succeed and do their best every day.
The items for this project will be used to to help me create more engaging lessons in Social Skills.
My Project
I teach social skills to 6th-8th grade students with special rights. I am now in my 5th year of teaching this class and I have exhausted the curriculum materials provided by the school and the materials I have found for free online.
I want Social Skills class to be fun and engaging to my students!
I know if I am bored with the curriculum then they must be too. I am hoping to use this the Teachers Pay Teachers gift cards from this project to revamp my curriculum and add in more opportunities for students to show what they have learned through journaling and short responses.
