My Project

By the time students reach fourth grade, they all want to be diving into engaging chapter books like the ones we read together in class. But some students are still practicing the necessary phonics and decoding skills from 1st, 2nd, and 3rd grades. They aren't ready yet to independently read fourth grade-level texts.

I am seeking primary level books that are exciting to read so that my struggling readers still get an engaging literary experience that meets them where they are at.

I will use these books in my classroom library, in small groups to practice necessary skills, and to send home in baggies for students who need books to read at home.
