Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students come from Puerto Rico, Russia, Ukraine, The Dominican Republic, Columbia, Bangladesh, Mexico – lands far and wide. Some are pushed by the fear of violence, some are pulled in the hopes of seeking a better life for their children.

My students may be from different places, but they all have one thing in common; they are typical teenagers.

And as typical teenagers, they are glued to their phones.

Help make our independent reading time a positive experience. Imagine yourself sitting in a cozy chair by the fire reading a really good book. Now imagine yourself sitting in a hard metal school chair. Which setting would keep you reading? I thought so. Same for my students!
