Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My fourth-grade dual language students are the most incredible and respectful little adults that anyone can have. My students are always willing to learn and are looking forward to learning about cultures, languages, and the foundations of education. They are passionate and I am more than happy and grateful to be part of their lives.

My Project

Having flexible seating gives students a choice in what kind of learning space works best for them, and helps them to work collaboratively, communicate, and engage in critical thinking. It allows students to take charge of their learning and make the choices that work best for them during independent work or group work. In flexible seating, the classroom is arranged to give a variety of options. Students can choose where they would like to work on their current project. Students might choose a location based on how they're feeling that day or what project they are working on. It will help my student’s minds to be more alert and focused. On the other hand, having bilingual books in the classroom will be a great resource to encourage literacy in both Spanish and English for my students. Since bilingual books provide sentences in both languages, children can more easily see similarities between words and will be able to compare/learn sentence structure, making them more eager to try out their newfound literacy skills in a second language. Thank you so much, I appreciate your help to my students and classroom.
