My Students

Do you remember way back when during science class you had to read those boring science text books and answer multiple choice questions about what you read? Well things have change since then! Science is more hands on and exciting. Students learn through exploration, discovery, and inquiry.

My second grade class consist of 30 very active, talkative, and eager to learn boys and girls.

Our school is located in New York City, so I have students from varying backgrounds. Each bring their own life experiences to share and learn from each other.

My Project

The Learning Science Activity Tub and Library coincides with New York City's second grade science curriculum. It will serve as extra resource in our classroom. Students will be able to experience more hands on exploration in each unit and utilize each activity tub as a science center activity in the classroom.

From the very first day of school we discuss what a scientist is and what a scientist does.

I help my students to realize that they are scientist too. These science materials will expand the knowledge of our little budding scientist.
