My Students

We are a Title I School!

My students are a group of young, energetic learners.

They are always eager to learn new things. Many of my students enjoy learning through technology and other hands on methods.

My students are very creative. They enjoy learning and working in cooperative groups. They enjoy creating stories and sharing them with their classmates. They also like to practice their math facts and skills on the computer.

More than 90% of the students at my school receive free lunch. Many of my students depend on the school for the needs that cannot be met at home. My students are enthusiastic about learning and comes to school everyday despite many of the difficult challenges they may face on a daily basis.

My Project

The HP laptops would be a much needed supply in my classroom. My students are required to complete a reading computer program called, Lexia. The program is designed to help students improve their reading skills. My students will also use the computer to complete a required math program called ST math. ST math helps students to learn math by understanding the conceptual process not just procedural. It is also a computer program. My students will use these laptops during small group reading and math rotations. They will also use these computers to help enhance their typing and research skills.

More than 70% of my students lack computer access and/or internet access, having these computers will help my students learning excel.

My school has a computer shortage, which limit the amount of time my students have to complete their reading and math required task. Having these laptops will support my scholars daily. They will help them to be technology savvy and continue to enhance their academic learning.

My students will also be able to listen to mindfulness music on them. This will help brain break activities, transitioning, and if they are in need of a mental break.
