My students need an Elementary Science Instant Learning Center, a Geosafari Motorized Solar System and a Stream Table Kit to practice Earth Science concepts.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Do you remember what it was like when elementary science consisted of reading out of a textbook and answering questions at the end of a chapter? I am committed that my students will never experience that kind of instruction in my classroom. With these activities you can help make that a reality.
My students are amazing young scientists.
They are interested, enthusiastic, and willing to learn. This year I really have a group of students who amaze me everyday with their inquiring minds. I know I have a future Marie Curie or Gregor Mendel on my hands.
Our school is in a rural area. Sometimes we struggle to get the resources we need for our students to succeed. Despite this fact, our staff is fully committed to giving our students student centered learning experiences. We are lively campus with great students and staff!
My Project
The resources I have selected are for our Earth/Space Science Unit. All of these activities are hands-on that actually let the students experiment and observe Earth Science concepts. It's like bringing the majestic Earth into our classroom! Students will be able to visit the Water Cycle and Earth Science centers, and will be able to witnesses and experiment with erosion inside our four walls!
Earth/Space Science is the area that students in our state struggle with the most.
Learning Earth Science, or any science, requires experiences. If we cannot offer that to our students then their chance of succeeded is limited. As teachers we cannot limit our students experiences. It is our duty to ensure that we provide them with every opportunity available to us. With your generosity you can make our job a little easier.
