My Students

I work with middle school students identified for enrichment and/ extension in a variety of different areas. My current group is particularly advanced in English Language Arts.

These students are curious and unique thinkers; often challenging themselves, each other, and their teachers with in-depth discussion and wonderments.

They deserve the chance to grow through appropriate educational challenges and rigorous opportunities!

My Project

There is incredible power in sharing stories, both our own and others that we read, analyze, and discuss. My students are ready to think about and discuss difficult topics such as: systemic failures, justice, and mercy.

This year, more than ever, our students need to connect- with each other, with ideas, and with authentic and timeless topics.

They need to read about things that matter and be inspired by those who have persevered.

With the young adult version of Just Mercy, we can and will dive into these discussions. Student engagement in the novel will undoubtedly grow them as readers, active citizens, and people!
