My Students

My Kindergarteners, their families, and school are as dynamic as the surrounding neighborhood and thrive on the diversity of opportunities our school provides. I love that my students are energetic, imaginative, and excited to take on challenges. I strive to continually make my classroom a place where my students can build confidence and learn through their own curiosity and inspiration.

I love to harness this excitement by providing my students with opportunities to learn through self-directed play.

Smiles, laughter and learning are at their peak when the children are working together to create, problem-solve, and learn!

My Project

Cooperative play is at the core of kindergarten. Play workshop is a time when my students get to choose a center that they want to play in. The kitchen center is the most popular center as their imaginations change it into so many fun things.

One day it is a family kitchen, the next a restaurant, then a bakery or pizzeria!

The skye the limit! These new pieces will renew interest and spark excitement. Play Workshop not only develops cooperative play it also supports reading, writing, math, as well as problem-solving and verbal skills. This is evident when new menus are created, signs made and posted around the room, prices assigned and their peers become their customers.
