My Students

I am a Kindergarten teacher at a Title 1 elementary school in Ocala where 76% of the students are minority. Nearly 70% of our students are eligible for free lunch.

Many of our students enter Kindergarten at a developmental level lower than five.

They have parents who are working long hours and may not have time to spend playing with their children.

My Project

My Students

We are a Title I school with a high population of minority students, English Language Learners, and those from economically disadvantaged homes.

Over 75% of our students are eligible for free lunches. Despite the less than positive outlook for many of these students, you can do so much to make school a positive place for them.. You can help our students who live in poverty by donating to help them access learning in an environment that is inviting and engaging.

My students are awesome and very creative, but they just need to be given the opportunity to shine!

We are excited about being a STEAM magnet school in our county. Our goal is to expose students to problem-based learning opportunities that will cause curiosity and engage in a broad curriculum, offering them a range of new interests and challenges. The work we do in our classroom is centered around science, technology, engineering, art, and mathematics, which helps in building relationships, staying with the group, following directions, and accessing general education content in different ways. By having comfortable seating options, our students will be better able to collaborate, communicate, think critically, and be creative.
