I am a first grade teacher in a high poverty elementary school. This upcoming school year I will be team teaching in a classroom with both regular and special education students. I have taught first grade for over 20 years now and absolutely love it! I love their energy, enthusiasm and love for learning! We enjoy learning and growing together to be ready for second grade.
The school I teach at is a high poverty elementary school, where more than half of our population receives free or reduced lunch, and snacks each day.
We have a very dedicated staff who works together to ensure that our students are provided with a positive learning experience.
My Project
My students need dry erase pockets and dry erase markers so we can work, erase, and do it again! With these materials, we will be to do our work and easily erase our mistakes. Also, having dry erase pockets, allows me to put activities in the pockets for groups to complete, erase when they're finished, and then the activity is ready for the next group.
These materials reduce the amount of paper that is used on a daily basis.
These pockets and markers will also allow us to practice manipulating sounds to write words, practice writing sentences, and improve our decoding skills. Dry erase pockets and markers will truly improve the teaching and learning that takes place in our classroom.
