Our student body is beautifully diverse. The demographics of our 905 6th through 8th-grade students are as follows: American Indian/Alaskan Native 3.8%, Asian 6.3%, Black/African American 5.4%, Hispanic/Latino 47.0%, Native Hawaiian/Other Pacific Islander 5.9%, White 21.6%, Two or More Races 10.0%. 27.4% of our students are English Language Learners.
Part of the beauty of this project is that it is inclusive, and it brings students together.
This project is like painting by number - but instead, students place small colored stickers on the 36" x 40" poster to create a larger mosaic picture. Because of the nature of this collaborative project, students from any grade level and every language will be able to participate.
Every one of our school's students can benefit from your donation of these mosaic sticker poster kits as these will be out for use in our school's library. Part of our district's library vision is that students will be empowered as creators. This project will help reach that goal. In addition to coming with their classes, students love to come to the library before school, after school, and during their lunches. These mosaic poster kits will

* bring students together
* help students create together
* and create an even greater draw to the library, which will in turn further expose students to books and to the resources the library has to offer them.
