My Students

"People are prettiest when they talk about something they really love with passion in their eyes."-k.v.h. I have a strong passion for teaching and I try to share that passion with my students. My goal is to make my room one where the students are comfortable and feel at home.

My students are fifth grade gifted and talented.

My school is a Title One school. We try to have great materials but many times teachers use their own money for resources like pencils, copy paper, and art supplies. My school is trying to keep up with technology. We have a computer in each room and a netbook cart but it is my dream to have an iPad for each student. We have to sign up for the netbooks and usually half don't work.

My Project

I would love to use the furniture to make a comfortable reading spot and place to use the 2 iPads. I feel it would be a great incentive for students to be able to have some time in the special reading area. The iPads would be used not only as incentives but as research tools. The students love to be challenged. They enjoy web quests, Minecraft, Khan Academy and National Geographic.

If I can get the kids to enjoy coming to school each day, I can get them to enjoy learning.

This project will allow me to create a dream classroom that I cannot afford to finance on my own.
