My Project

Hi! I recently moved to a new position. I teach Learning Support Math for 7th grade in a Title 1 school district.

Students don't have many supplies, and we try to stretch what we have, but being a Title 1 school, we often run out.

We need pencils the most. Doing math in pen is just not ideal, you know? With pencils comes the need to sharpen and we need something more reliable than the standard wall sharpener with more bad days than good.

The other items are things that would make my classroom more flexible for instruction and safe:

- An electric stapler so students can't shoot staples at each other and it's a quick and easy way to get things done.

- Expanding file folders to help our students who need assistance with organization.

- A mobile cart so I can have full use of the secondary whiteboard in my room and split my students into small groups that allow me to work with those who most need assistance.

- Whiteboards and markers for interactive Math games and working a problem with no need for paper.

My students deserve the best education we can give them. They are a really special group eager to learn and show the world what they can do, but we just need a little help to acquire the tools that will help us get there.
