My Students

My students come from a community of hard-working families that emphasize coming together for the greater good of our students' future. Students at my school come from a variety of backgrounds and school is their safe haven and a place for them to call home and try to find the best version of themselves. As a history teacher, it is important for me to try and provide my students with enough content, support, and belief to help them recognize and be the best version of themselves. My students work hard inside and outside of the classroom, and I try to make sure that they leave my class as better people than when they first came in.

I look at my students as my own kids -- I spend so much time with them day in and day out that I get to know them beyond their intellectual capabilities.

Their social, professional, and academic goals are among the many things we discuss on a day to day basis, and I pride myself on being a champion of the students. They deserve the best and I try to provide that for them inside and outside of the classroom.

My Project

As I am preparing my lesson plans and classroom for this upcoming school year, I plan on using this iPad to help me during this period of distance learning. While I am creating lesson plans for when in-person class resumes, I am also creating digital content and lessons that will help students learn more about history and social studies even while they are at home. A lot of the programs I've used can be shared with my students and they also need to have some parts of a lesson or activity scaffolded or modeled for them. This technology will help me do this and will allow me. Having this iPad will allow me to work with my students in a variety of ways, such as: using the iPad to share my screen as a whiteboard, modeling how to use certain apps and websites, and using visual aids to help my students interact with the content more. My goal is for students to realize the importance of studying history and its relation to their daily lives!
