Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I am a new art teacher this year and setting up an Art room is different than setting up a regular classroom. Having the supplies that will help you to get the kids working as quickly as possible is so important when you only have 40 minutes with a class. This has been a year of learning what works and what I need to change. I know painting is something kids look forward to but setting and cleaning up can be exhausting.
Having materials that children can get themselves and also having enough material would make teaching art so much easier.
Painting is always a class favorite but it is so hard to get all the supplies out quickly for kids to have as much time to work as possible. A classroom I visited used tempera paint cakes and the kids were working on their art in minutes. All they needed was a paper towel, cup of water, and brush and they were already working on their masterpiece.
