Every Breathe We Take... Improves With Aromatherapy
My students need natural scents and oils to improve concentration and to create an ideal stress-free learning environment where they can grow to their fullest potential.
As students enter my classroom, I want them to feel that they are in a fun, safe, healthy and stress-free place to learn and to be able to make mistakes while still feeling good about themselves. My fourth graders are a diverse group of students. I have several special education students, as well as general education students, some are working below grade, some are working on grade level and some are above grade level learners. No matter what level they are , they should all feel confident, calm and ready to learn in a healthy, serene yet engaging atmosphere.
My students need oil diffusers and essential oils to create an ideal learning environment that stimulates their minds as well as encourages a healthy mindset where they can grow to their fullest potential without high levels of stress and anxiety.
I would like to see them blossom this year. I am constantly trying to come up with new ways to keep all my students engaged while creating an atmosphere that fosters cooperation and excitement incorporating what I have now learned about aromatherapy.
My Project
A young person's mental health is impacted by their environment. Sweet Orange oil is known for its wonderful aroma that is fresh, citrusy, and similar to a fresh picked orange. This aroma is cheerful, uplifting, and energizing; perfect for times of worry, tension, or sadness. It is great choice to diffuse to help support a normal function of the immune system. Diffusing peppermint oil promotes energy and alertness and improves focus. The choices of oils in this project are kidsafe and were chosen for their proven benefits to children.
Research has shown that diffusing oils in classes improves focus, adds balance and tranquility which will help all students in my class maintain and improve their mental well being.
My goal is to create a calm inclusive classroom that encourages creativity and learning. Anxiety is up in children due to all the pressure of standardized testing. I wan the students in my classroom to be able to feel sense of calmness and confidence. Diffusing oils is a win win for everyone in our classroom.
