Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students come from all corners of the world--China, Bangladesh, Nepal, Yemen, Senegal, Honduras, Haiti, and many more countries--and all are very recent immigrants to the United States. They come from different educational backgrounds, they speak different native languages, and they represent different religions, cultures, and world views. But what brings them together is a common eagerness to be accepted and to be at home in this country.

I am very honored to spend their senior year with them and thus have the chance to see them through one of the turning points in their lives.

All of them leave a lasting impact on me--and on our school.

My Project

My 12th grade students love a great story--and they are fascinated by politics and government. What better way for them to examine ideas of leadership and power than by reading Shakespeare's "Julius Caesar"? This class set of books, along with supplemental graphic novel versions, will help me teach the Bard to a new generation.

Please help me teach this great text to my students by giving us the gift of a class set of books.

Your donations will ensure that each student in my class can have their own copy to annotate and read at school, and that my future classes in years to come can also read the book as well.
