Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

We write daily in our classroom. Sitting comfortably and focusing is challenging for some of my special needs students. Allowing them to have flexible seating gives children ownership of their learning. When they feel good, they do even better. In first grade, many students are developing their fine motor skills. Flair pens make the physical movement of writing smoother and easier for children developing these skills. Giving the children the choice of the tool they prefer to use during writing helps them build autonomy. When they do this, they feel proud of their work.
