This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My third-grade students attend a rapidly expanding school that continues to grow. It offers a rigorous academic environment with teachers who are willing to go above and beyond for their students. They are eager to use new technology, provide exciting learning activities and put in all their effort into learning!

My school is an AdvancED STEM Certification school that encompasses qualities and components vital to creating and sustaining superior, student-centered STEM teaching and learning programs.

In addition, our students have clear expectations for mastery of 21st-century skills.

Our hardworking students are tomorrow's leaders; they are held to high expectations for excellence. My students come from a variety of backgrounds including low-income and English as second language households. They take advantage of all the opportunities provided to them.

My Project

These classroom supplies are important in our everyday learning. Towards the middle of the school year, we start running low on pencils, erasers and several other materials.

Having supplies to use our whiteboards would help us work in small groups and focus on FSA Crunch Time.

We use dry-erase markers and erasers to work on fluency and work out math problems on the desk. We even use them on our mini whiteboards. Index cards are a great way to practice vocabulary, highlight strips allow students to focus on their reading and Lysol spray and wipes make sure we keep our classroom clean and our students healthy! We are requesting stickers to motivate students to do their best on computer lessons, they enjoy collecting them and showing off their progress.

Students always enjoy working out math problems on their desks, and having a table dedicated just for math practice would add even more fun to our lessons. Having sharpened pencils is always important so that we are ready to learn and don't have to interrupt our lessons. We also use cardstock to create task cards for math review, a timer to encourage a positive environment and testing dividers to focus on our independent work.

Your donations will encourage our students to focus on learning in a creative way. Fewer interruptions in the classroom allow us to work on our math and science skills without wasting important time looking for basic classroom supplies. We are looking forward to finishing out the school year with high expectations and higher grades! We want to be able to focus on test prep and review. Help us engage all our students by providing the needed items.
