This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Project
Currently I service a group of diverse learning students who would benefit from a small group instruction space to assist them in mastering their IEP goals and grade level material. Essential supports may be given to these students by providing them with a small group instruction area, a zone in the classroom that is dedicated to small group learning. It typically includes a teacher chair, small table, and 4-6 student chairs. Guided reading and guided math groups can meet here for differentiated lessons that target skills that all of the students need practice with.
The small group instruction area is where the essential supports can be introduced to benefit the diverse learners with mastering their academic, social and emotional goals.
It is in these guided groups and 1:1 student lessons that diverse learning students benefit from “lightbulb moments”. Having a table for a group to sit at also lends itself to other opportunities. During lessons students benefit from the Flash Furniture, hand2mind Foam Round Two-Color Counters to assist them with achieving their mathematics goals. Students will also have the opportunity to build and participate in science experiments using the Amazon Basics Ultra Facial Tissue with Lotion18 Cube Boxes and EXPO Low Odor Dry Erase Markers.
The essential supports include the need to create ongoing small group invention opportunities that prepare educators and paraprofessionals who interact with diverse learners on an ongoing basis. I wish set up for my diverse learning students for success by designing a space to work with them on a much more differentiated, individual level. I wish to implement essential supports by conducting helpful small-group instruction using a large table for this purpose. It allows for differentiated learning and for enriching the students who are ready to move ahead.
