This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are sweet, driven, smart 9, 10, and 11-year olds from the South Bronx. They come to school excited to grow and learn every day. No matter what is going on in their personal lives, they come to our classroom happy and full of love for each other.
My kids learn best when they have the opportunity to work together to create plans, ask questions, and solve problems about the world around them.
They are on their way to becoming the future leaders of our country and I'm honored to be a small part of their journey.
My Project
In our math class, kids learn how to use different diagrams and methods to show their mathematical thinking. They also work alongside me to practice and present their ideas. Dry-erase boards are essential for them to be able to practice, experiment with, and display their math ideas. This year, we won’t be able to share our dry erase boards due to the CDC guideline so I will need enough of them for each of my 64 students to have their own board. The pencil cases will help them keep all their tools together in a fun way.
