My Project

Sensory toys are essential for supporting autistic students and those with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) because they provide crucial tools for managing sensory needs and enhancing focus. These toys help students self-regulate by offering calming or stimulating sensory input, which can reduce anxiety and improve their ability to engage in learning activities. For many autistic students, sensory processing differences mean that traditional classroom environments can be overwhelming or under-stimulating, making sensory toys a valuable resource in creating a more inclusive and accommodating educational setting. By integrating sensory toys into their daily routine, educators can help students better manage sensory overload, improve their concentration, and foster a more supportive and productive learning environment.

Our students come down to the office whenever they need a break or somewhere to just breathe without all of the craziness a school ranging from 7th-12th may bring.

They love using fidgets, stress balls, clay, and much more to help calm down and relieve the stress that school and everyday life has to offer. All of these items help them self regulate to the point they can return to class and finish their days out successfully.

Ms. Lexus Mastery Charter School - Lenfest Grades 9-12
