Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are sweet, driven, smart 9, 10, and 11-year olds from the South Bronx. They come to school excited to grow and learn every day. No matter what is going on in their personal lives, they come to our classroom happy and full of love for each other.

My kids learn best when they have the opportunity to work together to create plans, ask questions, and solve problems about the world around them.

They are on their way to becoming the future leaders of our country and I'm honored to be a small part of their journey.

My Project

Usually we share supplies in my classroom, however this year that won't be possible due to Coronavirus and the CDC Safety Guidelines. In light of that, I need to make sure that every one of my 64 math students has their own essential supplies-not an easy feat for 5th graders whose families struggle to get their basic needs met on the daily. Having pencils, dry erase markers, and individualized worksheets available to them each day will help keep them safe while still allowing us to learn and grow as mathematicians as effectively as possible.
