Essential Classroom Resources for My Students With Autism!

My Students

My class of 5 are extremely unique, loving, sweet children! They are always motivated to learn whether it be through hands on activities or visual presentations. My students all have a diagnosis of Autism and are between the ages of eight and ten years old. My students are currently working on improving their conversational skills, such as turn-taking, active listening and spontaneous language and requesting. In addition to their core academic work, they are also currently working on their fine and gross motor skills through physical movement periods as well as problem-solving skills! I am extremely grateful to have these students as my first class within the Department of Education!

My Project

My students are extremely curious, imaginative, and tactile learners! Having these resources accessible to them would make a world of a difference in and out of the classroom.

The Power Clix Magnet Tiles would be an amazing addition for our students so that they can experience fun and creative building with their friends!

With these tools, my students will be able to interact with their friends during parallel play and even individual leisure time. The use of the dry erase boards would benefit my students highly by providing practice with their prewriting and writing skills. The use of the puzzles would be a great help towards their fine motor skills by interacting with hands-on materials while still learning the skills. The matching game set would be extremely helpful towards my students' gradual success in and out of the classroom.
