Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I am a high school teacher and I have the pleasure to work with special education students in 9-12th grade. Many of my students have multiple disabilities, so I aim to make the classroom a safe learning environment. I am a requesting a filing cabinet in order to organize their IEPs and their work samples. Currently I have crates on the floor and that can be a hazard for them.

I want them to be able to move around the class without clutter or danger of tripping or falling.

I have multiple students that use wheelchairs because they are unable to walk. I want class materials to be easily accessible to them.

I am also requesting a bookcase to organize our reading books. We don't have any bookcases in our classroom and it makes my students sad because the books are currently stacked on the floor, against the wall. If this project is funded, it will allow my to organize our classroom better, to keep them safe.
