My Students

Our school is located just north of the Port Richmond section of Philadelphia. It has a long and mixed history in the city. Once a premier academic school, our students now come from across the city to try and overcome the institutional challenges that face them. Under our new leadership, our test scores have improved and school spirit has returned. And now to infuse fresh energy into our school we are launching the all new FAA.

Starting August 27th, we will be teaching inner city students how to become Pilots, Airplane Mechanics, Drone Specialists, and Air Traffic Controllers.

By October, we hope to have the first students up in the air. With your help, we want to get three ring binders and mailboxes to store them for our freshman students. While small, it is often difficult for our students to get basic supplies, so your contribution is really needed! You can help us teach these kids the academic and organizational skills they need to grow themselves and their community.

My Project

Coming from a high needs background, many students cannot even afford life, let alone scholastic basics. It is very common to have students unable to complete assignments until a parent has a pay day. In areas with more average income, this would be unthinkable, but here at Frankford High, its a fact of life.

Can you imagine your child going to class and not even having a notebook and folder?

With your help, I want to head this problem off at the pass. You can provide the notebooks and folders to fill the binders of these students in need and help them succeed! With these notebooks, students will be able to take detailed notes on the STEM phenomena they observe in my course: Intro to Aviation. With the graph paper, they will be able to practice quantization and build basic math skills. With the folders, they will be able to organize all their data in one, easy to access location.

Donors to my previous project, An Organized Mind, A Beautiful Mind, will recognize these items as a continuation of my previous initiative to get my entire freshman class onto a three ring binder and mailbox system since lockers are outlawed at Frankford High.
