This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Last year I got a project funded through generous donors enabling me to create an ESports curriculum into my classroom. My students absolutely loved the program however, now they are requesting new materials to be added to the existing curriculum. I am now asking for all new materials necessary so I can update my own ESports program in my own classroom and keep the students engaged. The items listed below are the most requested games by the students in my class. Super Mario games are the most popular.

To run the program effectively, I will need new Nintendo Switch games and controllers .

My classroom is called an Exceptional Child Services (ECS) comprised of students who all have a severe to profound learning disability. One thing they all have in common, however, is that they all love video games. As we experience ESports, the students are completely overjoyed, stating that it is the best part of their day. Another benefactor is that it is also attracting regular education students to want to participate. This in turn will help my students make new friends and feel like they are part of a community.

I work at a school in Providence, RI, and many of these students do not have the opportunity to play games like this at home. This is great for my students on so many levels, including positive motivation, hand-eye coordination, promoting team building, healthy competition, STEM learning, attendance improvement, etc. I really hope you will consider donating, thank you so much in advance!
