Escape Classroom!

Help me give my students six lock boxes and different locks to create fun reviews. The Epson ink will allow me to print out the clues the students will need to unlock the locks.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

As a teacher in a low income / high poverty school district, my students are faced with many multiple challenges both in and out of the classroom. Somehow my students do not let the challenges stop them from learning. My students are highly unique individuals with a thirst for learning. I am teaching Science to approximately 90 students. These students love hands-on learning and thrive when given the opportunity to learn this way.

"Educating Students for Success in a Changing World" is our school motto.

My students are eager to learn about the world and that they don't have to be confined to where their zip code bounds them. They want to step out the box that they have been placed in and expand their experience.

My Project

The materials I am requesting will bring the popular escape room (or breakout) concept to my classroom to increase participation and interest in science. Materials like these locks, lock boxes, printer ink, will allow me to create and implement breakout activities.

With these supplies, my students will be absorbed in escape room-style experiences that encourage critical thinking, collaboration, and communication.

Having multiple sets of these supplies will enable everyone in the class to get in on the action. All types of learners will be able to improve their critical skills as they work toward the common goal of opening the locks and “escaping the room.”

Escape rooms are fun, and students like fun things. I want my students to be enthusiastic about learning and these items will allow me to create a valuable educational experience for all.
