My Project

My students love hands-on experiments, there's no doubt that they're going to love the bubbling, fizzing, and eruption! They’ll create and erupt their own volcanoes in a group (4 groups) as I walk them through with demonstration with my 'Blue Marble National Geographic Jumbo Volcano' while learning about real volcanic activity; We are only 78 miles from Mount Spur and at the moment, there's a lot of activity going on! It's all the rage right now, especially, in Alaska! We are making real-world connections!

The National Geographic Volcano Kits will let them build, paint, and erupt volcanoes multiple times.

No eruption is complete without the classic baking soda and vinegar reaction.

The obsidian rock samples will make the lesson even more 'cooler' teaching them that obsidian forms when magma cools rapidly, turning into smooth volcanic glass instead of rock with crystals. Seeing and touching real cooled magma will help students connect their experiment to real-life geology!

Erupting Volcanoes = science is awesome! This project is engaging and memorable, sparking curiosity and excitement while reinforcing key concepts about volcanoes, chemical reactions, and Earth’s processes!
