My Students

Every day my students greet me at the door with a high five or some form of a handshake. They are eager to start the day and are excited about learning. What they are most excited about is afternoon play centers where they have free choice of their learning.

We are in a rural community where many of my students don't have opportunities to experience the world.

I strive to provide a brain-compatible classroom for all my students through cooperative learning and conscious discipline.

My Project

My students need more math and literacy games to enhance their own learning. I have some games but have several Teacher Pay Teacher games and learning tools that need to be copied on card stock. I will need some clear sleeve protectors and binders to put them in so each center can be used over and over. My students use centers like these after they are finished with their morning work and during guided reading. They go and get a center binder, their dry erase marker, an eraser, and start to work on their own.

They like working independently and find it challenging.

When they are finished with one binder they go and get another. Some of my students are competitive and strive to do better than their peers.
