Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students have only met me through a tiny window via Zoom. Through this tiny window, they they interact with their teacher and classmates and have poured light, love, empathy, and a willingness to learn and explore.

My goal is for my students is be lifelong learners.

Their curiosity and empathy has propelled them to be passionate about learning and kind to their classmates by listening and helping formulate solutions. The empathy my students display is evident in their temperament. Each one of them has grown up with a deaf sibling, and they have learned sign language in order to be the bridge between the hearing and the hearing impaired world.

My Project

I am currently teaching in a hybrid model and many of my students are in need of more supplies. With the funding of this project, you are bringing the necessary supplies to students that are in improvised neighborhoods and communities. Students struggle with access to basic materials such as paper and pencils. And at this point in the school year, they have run out of pencils, run out of paper in their notebooks, and have run out of ink in their markers.

Materials such as these are scarce in this community.

What makes it even more difficult for my students is that they all have multiple siblings that are learning in the same household which means that they are forced to share their few resources with one another.

With your help, students will benefit from these resources because it ensures that all learners will have the all the necessities during distance learning.
