Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I am a speech and language therapist whose caseload includes students in upper elementary as well as middle school students with special needs and learning disabilities at Elementary and Middle school. I have created this project in hopes to fund some textbooks that can help me further equip my students with various evidence based strategies to support their speech and language therapy goals. These goals includes phonological awareness, comprehension and higher order thinking skills (e.g. identifying the main idea, context clues, supporting details, narrative skills, story grammar elements, etc.), as well as writing skills in the classrooms.

Older students face increasingly rigorous classroom tasks - hence, being equipped with strategies that will help them participate, engage, and contribute in rigorous classroom tasks is VITAL!

I hope to discover ways to further support my students with special needs and learning disabilities through these resources/ textbooks recommended to me by my district speech and language supervisor.
