This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Imagine showing up to work and not having a laptop or pens to execute your responsibilities? This is the way, many of my students arrive to school daily. A majority of my students are from low-income backgrounds and are new to the country.

They are hard working, resilient, and full of goals, but lack the basic supplies to learn to their fullest potential.

I ask that you choose our class, to buy folders, pencil pouches, pens, and pencils, enough to last them all year, to help them keep track of their work for each period of their day, annotate and highlight their reading material, and to have notebooks to practice writing daily. As English learners, they face a lot of challenges, and having the necessary tools to practice at home can transform their academic journey.

These basic supplies are not just tools, but a pathway to a better future. You are investing in future civil servants, leaders, professionals, and dreamers!
