My Students
My students are from all over Brooklyn and even a handful from as far as Staten Island. They have diverse learning styles and many are alternatively assessed, meaning that they participate with adapted curricula and assessments.
Many of my students come from less than ideal economic circumstances but they have a lot of heart and enjoy learning when it relates to their experience.
Help me provide them with educational experiences with which they can develop the confidence and character they need to succeed.
My Project
Many of my students do not have adequate access to essential eye care and vision screenings. It is a shame to allow the basic healthcare needs of our students to inhibit them from making the same achievements as their peers. This visit from a local optometrist will allow our students to receive current prescriptions as well as free glasses provided by Warby Parker.
It is not uncommon that students' vision will become an obstacle to learning, as well as other daily activities.
Having a pair of glasses that fit both the prescription and style of my students will make an enormous difference in their academic success.
