Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

At our high school I teach an environmental science research class that challenges students to explore environmental concepts through inquiry experiences.

One of the challenges that my students will complete is growing plants without soil. Instead of providing them with all of the materials, I want to provide them with some background information about plants and have them figure out how to accomplish the task of growing the plants. We have no means of accomplishing this without resources.

I would love to provide students with a source to help them accomplish their task of growing plants without soil. This book will guide them as they make choices on how to accomplish their task. In addition, nutrient resources will need to be used to supplement the nutrients from the soil.

You can help provide these eager students with a unique, hands-on learning experience. By helping these students understand the requirements of plants, they will be more informed and educated about the needs of the environment and how humans can impact that environment.
