Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I have the privilege to work with a multicultural classroom; basically populated with immigrants and first generation US citizens. My kids are inquisitive, respectful and lifelong learners. My students are eager to learn and experience everything that education in this country has to offer! They are curious, fearless, and an absolute joy to work with. A lot of my students have very little support at home and school is the safest place for them. These are good kids that just need a little push to excel.

My Project

The ability to use technology in my classroom is not possible and our campus has to share 1 computer cart with 350 students. Many times, these old computers do not work properly.

In this technology literate world, any interaction will increase their literacy as well as their desire to learn.

Not only would they be more engaged in their ability to hold technology but also help me not print so many articles, text or handouts. Students would be able to read articles, newspapers, book, and listen to audio on their device and while being friendly to the environment. I would be helping the environment by saving trees.

Finally, I would use them for new students fresh from another country by having them use google translate or apps to help them learn English.
