This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

The specific items I'm requesting, including two bookshelves and a teacher supply cart, will significantly enhance the learning environment for my students. These resources will help create an organized classroom, providing quick and easy access to manipulatives and educational games. This organization is crucial for effective small group interventions, where struggling students from first, second, and third grades can receive focused, personalized support in developing their numeracy skills. An organized space ensures that valuable instructional time is not wasted searching for materials, allowing for more efficient and effective teaching. A well-organized classroom will support a structured learning environment conducive to focused interventions and individualized instruction.

What makes my students special is their resilience and determination.

Despite facing challenges and coming from an urban area where resources are often limited, these young learners show incredible enthusiasm and a strong desire to improve their math skills. They are diverse in their backgrounds and experiences, each bringing unique perspectives to the classroom. Their perseverance and willingness to engage with new learning methods inspire me every day. Providing them with the right resources will help them achieve their academic goals and recognize and celebrate their potential, fostering a lifelong love for learning.
