Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Students will learn about their environment and their feelings. Students will engage in art and mindfulness practices to engage the environment that they live in.

Nature can generate many positive emotions, such as calmness, joy, and creativity, and can facilitate concentration.

Nature connectedness is also associated with lower levels of poor mental health, particularly lower depression, and anxiety.

Too much light can contribute to anxiety and agitation and disrupt sleep. Students will make bookmarks, utilizing Sharpies, pressed flowers, and tissue paper with contact paper to help what they find in nature be highlighted. Students will paint what they see in nature and their environment. They will learn mindful practices with the books purchased highlighting what nature does for them. Students will engage in origami-mindful practices.

Students will gain an understanding of their emotions, nature, and their environment.
