Reading and writing are such an amazing part of our children's development! Students in my class cozy up to read stories on our rug every day. Writing is a passion, simply put! Readers and writers are we!
Students in my classroom come from a variety of backgrounds.
Our school's free and reduced lunch rate is over 70% this year. Coming into Kindergarten, students have a variety of school experiences from daycare to preschool or even none at all. Our class is incredibly interested in writing this year. Every day students CHOOSE to use their free choice time writing! Just as exciting is their enthusiasm for reading. As a teacher, I try to be resourceful and creative with our budget to stretch it to the max for the benefit of my students.
My Project
Students will use the easel, chart paper and markers for reading, writing, and even math lessons. Big books will become less cumbersome and more interesting using the shelf on the easel. Students will be able to see writing being modeled and practice writing many things with the chart paper and markers.
The proposed project materials will allow for more interactive and visual lessons to be presented so that all students can see and learn.
Students will be able to work with the easel's components to practice reading, writing and math skills.
