My Project

These pedometers will be used by each individual student who enters my classroom daily. They will wear their pedometers, set individual goals each day, and chart their progress throughout time. By setting individual goals, and achieving them, students will feel accomplished and will feel good about themeselves. This will lead to setting higher goals, and in the end, students will be in better cardiovascular shape which will lead to a more healthy lifestyle.

My goal for all of my students is for each of them to have a better fitness level and find success in fitness.

Making fitness fun, and being successful in accomplishing self-goals, are two keys I hope to portray. Using the pedometers will create excitement in wanting to achieve personal goals and along the way, gain fitness without even knowing they are doing so. Accomplishment will gain good experiences and good experiences will gain more excitement, and more excitement will gain higher levels of fitness and well being!

All of my students are special in their own ways. Whether they are accomplished athletes who compete in varsity sports, or they prefer to be more sedentary, they all have their own set of unique traits that make them who they are. They all have their own individual fitness levels, and they all can improve. Having students create their own specific goals, according to what they believe they can achieve, and then achieve it, will strengthen their self respect and confidence.
