My Students

My students have a passion for growing friendships and learning all they can! We are a Title I school where the majority of our students participate in free and reduced-rate lunch. We love learning alongside one another!

The students who enter my classroom are already behind their more affluent peers in reading.

We are committed to growing our brains! My kids love exploring and stretching their schema to learn more about the world around them. The students and parents are enthusiastic about learning but do not have the tools (books, writing utensils, etc.) to work on reading and writing outside of school. With a longer school day, longer school year, and strategic planning, my students will make significant gains to leave first grade reading on grade level. I can't wait to see what they will do as they move along their educational journeys!

My Project

We are heading back to in person school after spring break! I am so excited for a portion of the class to return to our room. While returning to in person learning is incredibly exciting, it also brings some new challenges with many added restrictions and safety precautions. Not to mention my 1st graders have not had a full day of school for over a year! We will be making some adjustments to our typical daily schedule to ensure students are safe and supported, both socially and academically, in this transition.

In order to meet these safety requirements we will need individualized learning packs to be used during our enrichment time.

I want to ensure my students have materials that will allow them to explore their creativity and interests safely in the classroom without sharing materials. These materials will be used to create learning packs that students can enjoy during our added enrichment time this year. Your support would ensure we can safely return to the classroom and still have some fun throughout the day!
