My students look to the school to provide a safe place to be, fun activities to get involved in and a positive atmosphere.
Our students are working very hard to prepare themselves for college by enrolling in Advanced Placement courses.
This year I will be teaching A.P. Art Studio. My students need a wide variety of media experience for their portfolio. The portfolio is what they submit to earn college credit for their A.P. work. My students want to earn as many college credits as they can in high school. I want to provide them all of the tools the need to be successful.
What becomes a problem is the fact that there is never enough Chromebooks for everyone. Our school has limited resources and high demand for Chromebooks.
I want the use of Chromebooks to be a daily activity in my classroom. Using Google Classroom to organize, share and grade assignments allows students and parents/guardians access to all of the information about assignments and how to complete them. There are also many other Google Apps we can use in the art classroom.
This project requests twenty-five HP Chromebooks.
I want every student to have a Chromebook everyday, so that they can create a digital routine and learn how to use technology for academic and artistic purposes. The students will learn everything from how to copy and paste to how to create professional masterpieces with their Chromebooks.
In my art classroom, I work to teach all of my students how to think for themselves and solve problems. Integrating technology in these practices is not only practical, but it is also increasing their academic achievement.
