Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

If awarded the grant, the new high-interest books will make a significant difference in my students' learning by capturing their attention and sparking their curiosity. These engaging titles, ranging from thrilling fiction to captivating non-fiction, will cater to various interests and reading levels, motivating students to read more often. By providing access to literature that resonates with their personal experiences and passions, I aim to foster a love for reading that enhances their overall academic performance and critical thinking skills.

My primary goal for this project is to create a dynamic library environment where students are excited to explore new books.

I plan to organize themed reading events, book clubs, and activities centered around these high-interest titles to encourage discussions and connections among peers. Additionally, I will actively seek feedback to assess how these books impact student engagement and inform future selections.

What makes my students special is their diverse backgrounds and unique interests. Many face challenges that can hinder their motivation to read, so providing them with high-interest books is crucial for igniting their enthusiasm for learning. By offering literature that they find relatable and exciting, I hope to empower my students to become confident readers and lifelong learners.
