Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Help us travel around the world with exciting books and CDs that will teach us about different countries and cultures!

My students attend a high-poverty urban K-8 public school where 100% of the students qualify for free lunch.

They are bright, inquisitive learners who are always eager for new experiences. They have incredible enthusiasm for music and impress me every day. Every single child at my school is amazing.

My Project

These materials will expose my students to a variety of music found in different cultures. The books and CDs that we are asking for will transport us all over: we will travel to Vienna when we read "Beethoven's Wig," the New York City jazz scene with "Charlie Parker Played Be Bop," and fourteen different Spanish-speaking countries with "Arroro Mi Nino."

I know that these books and CDs will engage and enthuse my students tremendously, piquing their interest in a myriad of ways.

These materials will allow my students to hear incredible recordings and see beautiful illustrations that depict some of the most incredible music ever written.
