Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are unique since they are all English language learners. I love their drive to learn. They are responsible, respectful and loving. My students have arrived to the states from another country or live in a household where English is not their first language. The majority of my students are new and therefore don’t have the fundings necessary to have school supplies.

My Project

My students will be ready and prepared to learn English with the materials. They will use the notebooks for journals at school or home. All of my students begin with little or no knowledge of the English language so they rely on short words or drawings to express or answer questions. The crayons will motivate them to draw/write in a fun way. They are learning how to read, write and speak English so allowing them to draw their thoughts is a great motivation. The dry erase markers will be used with the reusable dry erase pockets as a fun social distance interaction to write or draw answers, thoughts, questions or ideas. They can visually and verbally share with classmates being 6ft apart. These tools can also be used for virtual learning.
