Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are hungry, not only for food but for fun engaging learning! My students love to explore and embrace their imagination all while engaging in life long learning. We enjoy bright and fun colors that attract attention to our lessons!

My students are explorers, scientists, teachers, readers, mathematicians, and so much more!

Our school is a high poverty school. All of the students receive a free lunch and many students receive food to take home on the weekends. Because of this reality, many of my students do not have the materials they need in school. Despite all of these challenges we continue to strive for success daily.

My Project

We are asking for colored paper to help enhance our interactive notebooks. My students have been responding with an overwhelming amount of success, in reading especially, by having hands on flaps or other movable parts in their notebooks. By using fun colors, these lessons can stand out and continue to enrich their learning capabilities. In addition, I have asked for books that will enhance these reading lessons and provide excellent examples of the reading skills we will be learning about. The kids learn much better when there is a book to go along with the skill! We are asking for crayons, markers, and containers, to continue to enhance our imagination in writing, phonics, reading, and math. We love to use these special tools especially in 2nd grade.

Our dreams are big in 2nd grade.

We dream of becoming professional athletes, teachers, scientists, and more! By having the materials to enhance our learning we can continue to be successful and make our dreams come true. The kids that will be using these materials are the future of America! Thank you for believing in us and helping to create life long learners.
